Carrier Oils
Carrier oil is a vegetable oil derived from the fatty portions of plants, such as seeds, kernels, or nuts. It is used to dilute essential oils, fragrance oils, or active ingredients before they are applied to the skin, preventing irritation or sensitization.
Key Characteristics of Carrier Oils:
Mild & Non-Irritating: Safe for direct skin application.
Emollient: Helps moisturize, soften, and nourish the skin.
Neutral or Light Aroma: Typically have a faint, natural scent that doesn’t overpower essential oils.
Absorption: Penetrates the skin, delivering both the carrier oil’s own nutrients and any blended actives.
